Mt. Airy casino hikes ahead. Casino had made another leap forward as the Paradise Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the preliminary plan of redevelopment for the 1st phase of the proposed plan of $360 million casino. The casino would rise at the former lodge.

The northeastern Pennsylvania businessman who owns Mount Airy, Louis A. DeNaples, said that this move is a major step for them as they want to hold and secure a license permit to have gaming casinos in the region.

According to DeNaples, they will be working hand on hand with the Paradise Township to make sure that they are working hand in hand with the community needs and complements harmoniously with the community than competes with previous existing business and local destinations in Poconos.

The redevelopment plan for phase one calls for a luxury hotel composed of two hundred rooms, state of the art gaming complex with three thousand slot machines, two entertainment lounges that will feature live entertainment, four restaurants and a championship golf course. It will also have a spa, retail shops, secured parking facilities and an indoor pool.

$300 million dollars is the estimated value of the 1st phase redevelopment plan. This 1st phase will be followed by the construction of Phase 2 which will showcase the expansion for the casino and other great casino amenities for the players and guests alike. The phase 2 will include five thousand slot machines, 200 additional luxury rooms and additional entertainment, conference and parking facilities. In addition five hundred fifty acres of green space will be provided.

Before making its vote, the supervisors made some important conditions that the company should follow. The conditions include that the developer should secure local, county, state and federal permits before it starts the construction of the luxurious casino. A developer agreement that outline the course of Paradise Township to take over Woodland Road.

After the completion of first phase, Mt. Airy is expected to open in the Fall of 2007. Exceptional and talented members of gaming executive led by Paul Henderson will run the team. Paul Henderson has many credits to his name such as the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Caesars in Atlantic City, Trump Marina Hotel and Casino and the Atlantic City Hilton.The team has experience working with the top notch fifty casinos and gaming facilities around the globe. And they have an extensive knowledge about development, design, opening and operating different gaming structures.
